(Yicai Global) Aug. 19 -- Dark clouds were rolling in the sky over Shenzhen yesterday afternoon as Typhoon Higos neared coastal areas in Guangdong province, turning day as dark as night, like a doomsday scene from a sci-fi flick.

Higos landed on the coast of Zhuhai near Shenzhen and Hong Kong at around 6.00 a.m. today with the maximum winds of level 12 (35 meters per second) near its eye. It will gradually weaken as it moves north by west at about 25 kilometers per hour.

Dark clouds rumble in the sky over Shenzhen.

Heavy rainfall and fierce winds hit the southern tech and manufacturing hub yesterday afternoon.

Menacing clouds start to overspread the seacoast.
