(Yicai Global) June 10 -- Hytera Communication's wholly-owned Chilean unit Hytera PMR Chile recently won the bid for a USD4.8 million subway communication system project in Santiago, Chile, the parent announced today.
Hytera PMR Chile will build the expansion project for the Santiago Metro Line 2 for Empresa de Transporte de Pasajeros Metro Santiago and build a Terrestrial Trunked Radiocommunication system for a depot, providing them with related application software, terminals and follow-up services, per the announcement.
This is the second time for the Shenzhen-based supplier of professional wireless communication equipment to provide communication network service for the local subway project after its provision of a TETRA system to the Chilean capital's mass transit network in 2014, which served as a sound demonstration allowing it to expand its rail transport communication service markets in other countries and cities.
TETRA was developed by TELTRONIC, a unit of Cambridge, UK-based Sepura. Hytera acquired Sepura in 2017 and took over TETRA's overseas market.
