(Yicai Global) Feb. 22 -- Chinese radio systems maker Hytera Communications will supply public security equipment for the Brazilian state of Goias.
The company's Brazilian and Spanish units won a joint EUR6.2 million (USD7 million) bid to supply handheld terminals and mobile transceivers, Hytera said in a statement.
The Goias public security department's current terrestrial trunked radio system came from British firm Sepura's unit Teltronic, which Hytera acquired in 2017. The deal is an opportunity for the unit to expand in Brazil and other overseas markets, the statement said.
This order aims to meet the state's growing demand for private network communication terminal equipment and includes products developed by both Sepura and Hytera.
Teltronic's TETRA private network communication base station can establish internal communication networks for public security, railways, transportation, and large companies. Another subsidiary of Sepura penned a contract to build a TETRA communication network for a rail transit system in North America for CNY55 million (USD8.2 million), according to a statement last week.
