(Yicai Global) June 30 -- China’s Sinoma International Engineering, the world’s biggest provider of cement engineering services, has scored a USD291 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for a cement factory in Ethiopia.
Sinoma will build a clinker production line, that handles the whole process from limestone crushing to cement packaging, with a daily output of 5,000 tons as well as ancillary facilities in Derba, Oromiya state for its client Derba Midroc Cement, the Beijing-based company said yesterday, citing the deal signed between the two parties.
Sinoma will be responsible for the engineering design, equipment procurement and goods supply as well as the construction of the factory, the installation and debugging of electromechanical equipment and staff training, it said.
The first products are expected to start rolling off the production line two years and two months after construction starts. Once the plant begins production, a provisional operating license will be issued within three months, it added.
This is the second contract that Sinoma has bagged in the last five days to build a large cement factory overseas. Earlier this week, Sinoma said it has been appointed EPC contractor by India’s Ambujia Cements for a CNY2 billion (USD282 million) cement factory in the South Asian country.
Sinoma, which specializes in the designing of medium and large-sized cement production lines, equipment manufacturing as well as EPC services, has built 286 cement clinker production lines in 84 nations worldwide so far, according to its website.
Sinoma’s share price [SHA:600970] closed flat at CNY12.75 (USD1.80) today.
