(Yicai Global) May 19 -- China’s Sinoma International Engineering, the world’s biggest provider of cement engineering services, has scored a USD330 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for a cement factory and supporting facilities in Saudi Arabia.
Sinoma will build a clinker production line, that handles the whole process from limestone crushing to cement packaging, with a daily output of 5,000 tons as well as ancillary facilities in Gizan for its client Southern Province Cement, the Beijing-based company said yesterday. Construction is expected to take two years and three months.
This is the second contract to build a cement plant in Saudia Arabia that Sinoma has bagged in the past six months. In November last year, it said that it has been appointed EPC contractor for a USD220 million cement factory in Riyadh. Sinoma has built 286 cement clinker production lines in 84 countries so far, according to its website.
Unmoved by the news, Sinoma’s stock price [SHA:600970] was trading down 1 percent at CNY12.94 (USD1.84) as of 2 p.m. China time today.
