(Yicai Global) Aug. 12 -- Walmart set a new sales record on China's leading online-to-offline e-commerce platform Dada-JD Daojia during the country's 8.8 Shopping Festival from July 18 Aug. 8.
Sales of the Shenzhen-based affiliate of the US retail giant grew by more than twofold per year, the company announced today.
More than 400 Walmart stores participated in the consumption carnival, with over 290 of them already having debuted on the Dada-JD Daojia platform, which has doubled in size from the same period last year.
With the deepening of cooperation between and rising number of online stores, Walmart's sales on Dada-JD Daojia in July had increased more than 13 times since October 2016 when it first started participating in the festival.
