(Yicai Global) April 24 -- JD.Com, a Chinese e-commerce giant, and Dada-JD Daojia, a grocery and delivery firm, will deepen their collaboration and start providing efficient intracity courier services to consumers.
JD.Com and Dada-JD Daojia will launch express logistics services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Tianjin, the Shanghai-based crowdsourcing courier firm said in a press release today. A package sent at 6 p.m. from Beijing will reach Shanghai at 10 p.m. the next day, it added.
The Chinese city-to-city logistics market has expanded with names such as SF Express as the nation's e-commerce platforms need to deliver their packages as fast as possible sometimes across the country.
In 2016, JD Daojia, which is JD.Com's e-commerce platform, and Dada were merged to form Dada-JD Daojia. The Beijing-based online retail giant owns 47 percent of Dada-JD Daojia's equity.
