(Yicai Global) Sept. 29 -- Artificial intelligence (AI) medical company VoxelCloud has recently bagged CNY100 million (USD15 million) in A+ round financing, led by Chinese internet giant Tencent Holding Ltd. [HKG:0700], online news outlet Jiemian News reported on Sept. 29.
The firm's A-round investors Sequoia Capital and United Capital also participated in this latest round.
VoxelCloud will use the funds to develop AI medical products for hospital scenarios, the report said.
The company mainly specializes in early-stage cancer screening and diagnosis of early-stage cardiovascular, ophthalmological, and hepatic diseases. It aims to provide doctors with fully automated medical imaging analysis and auxiliary diagnosis services based on deep learning algorithms.
VoxelCloud's three major product lines, namely, lung cancer diagnosis, ophthalmological disease examination, and coronary artery enhancement CT analysis systems, are used at more than 50 well-known hospitals at home and abroad, said founder Ding Xiaowei.
These product lines have helped doctors diagnose about 50,000 cases of breast illness, 50,000 cases of heart disease, and over 100,000 cases of eye diseases, he added.
