(Yicai) Feb. 13 -- Domestic and foreign visitors flocked to the Yu Garden Lantern Festival in Shanghai late yesterday, a traditional celebration on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar Chinese calendar.

The Yu Garden Lantern Festival holds a special place in the memories of Shanghai residents as a celebration of lights. This year's event continues the theme of "a fantastic tale of mountains and seas," recreating the jungle world of the ancient Chinese classic text The Classic of Mountains and Seas through mythical creatures and vibrant flora.
