(Yicai Global) April 8 -- Shanghai has opened a makeshift hospital with 13,600 beds in the southeastern area of Lingang to receive Covid-19 patients, as the highly contagious omicron variant continues to spread in the city.

The hospital had 3,200 patients as of 11.00 p.m. on April 6. Medical teams from the neighboring provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, as well as some local doctors, have been taking care of them.
