(Yicai Global) July 31 -- Doksuri, the fifth and strongest typhoon to hit China this year, made landfall in Jinjiang, Fujian province at 9.55 a.m. on July 28, impacting people and the local economy.

The typhoon had affected more than 724,600 people as of 2 p.m. that day, with more than 124,400 relocated, and caused direct economic losses of CNY52.3 million (USD7.3 million).

Wind strength near the center of Doksuri reached level 15 with a minimum air pressure of 945 hectopascals.
