(Yicai Global) Nov. 30 -- Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to build itself into "China's digital valley" by 2020. It will step up its efforts in attracting investment in the data industry from 2018 to 2020, and strives to introduce industrial projects, with investment reaching more than CNY50 billion (USD7.5 billion).
Guiyang municipal government has unveiled the investment attraction plan for 2018 to 2020, aiming to bring in 30 Big Data industry leaders, over 50 of top 100 enterprises, more than 100 pillar businesses with strong competitiveness and over 20 Big Data think tank institutions, state-run xinhuanet.com reported today.
Guiyang is set to build itself into a city of data in an all-round way by 2020 and form a powerful digital valley in China, which will possess a storage capacity of 1 exabyte, foster more than 10 Big Data brands with core competitiveness and significant business influence, and promote over 100 application scenarios.
Guiyang also expects to pool 10,000 Big Data market entities by 2020, and generate a total annual income of CNY100 billion from main business.
