(Yicai) March 20 -- More than 200 brands and companies will gather for the Shanghai Fashion Week's seven-day Autumn/Winter 2025 edition, with overseas participants making up over half of them.
Italian luxury brand Lorena Antoniazzi, Vietnamese fashion brand LSOUL, UK's high-end womenswear brand Marchesa, and US' timeless style brand Auteur are among foreign participants to make their debut at the Autumn/Winter Shanghai Fashion Week, which will turn the city into the center of global fashion innovation when it opens on March 25.
Chinese traditional fashion brand Ep Yaying will headline the opening show at the iconic Xintiandi venue, integrating cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology. US sportswear giant Nike will create the closing event, inspired by the strength of women in running and athletics.
Technology will be integrated into this edition of the Shanghai Fashion Week, with Chinese startup Unitree Robotics debuting its humanoid robot G1, while independent designer Nmtg has collaborated with several artists to launch a cyberpunk horse installation, exploring avant-garde expressions of human-machine interaction.
The Walt Disney Company's Chinese arm and 10 local brands will co-present a first-of-its-kind fashion show inspired by the US entertainment giant's hit franchise Toy Story. Beyond the fashion week, the parties will open a themed fashion exhibition at Zhang Yuan, a popular 141-year-old local architecture complex, from March 28 to April 8.
In addition, various events will be held during the Autumn/Winter Shanghai Fashion Week, including forums and summits, the Asia sustainable fashion competition, and many other fashion-related activities.
