(Yicai) Sept. 25 -- The latest technological innovations worldwide are exhibited at the ongoing 24th China International Industry Fair, which has a New Energy Auto, Robotics, New Material Industry, Industrial Automation, and five other specialized exhibition areas.
The Robotics pavilion has taken center stage and attracted the most interest so far at the five-day CIIF, which kicked off in Shanghai yesterday. It features more than 350 domestic and foreign robot brands.
The CIIF is attended by more than 2,600 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions, matching a record set last year. It has an exhibition area of 280,000 square meters.
"China leads globally in robot density and is the world's largest and fastest-growing robotics market, offering significant opportunities for ABB's AI-driven robotic solutions," Han Chen, senior vice president and president of ABB Robotics' China arm, told Yicai.
ABB's Shanghai megafactory is its largest robotics plant worldwide, Han noted. "We can produce about 95 percent of our global products in China, with 90 percent of products sold in the country being manufactured in Shanghai," he added.
ABB launched the Ultra Accuracy, a new industry-leading feature for its GoFa cobot, at the CIIF. "It delivers the highest level of precision available in cobots, enabling over 10 times greater path accuracy versus other cobots on the market," according to the Swedish-Swiss firm.
The Ultra Accuracy GoFa is suitable for use in areas requiring extreme path accuracy, including electronics, auto, aerospace, and metal manufacturing, Han pointed out.
Shanghai-based JAKA Robotics put various types of robots, including collaborative, compound, dual-arm, and humanoids, on display at the CIIF.
As a humanoid robot supply chain enterprise, JAKA seeks more industrial cooperation opportunities to "leverage the advantages of our robotic arm products," Vice President Chang Li said to Yicai.
In addition to JAKA's mass production factory in Changzhou, China's eastern Jiangsu province, its Shanghai plant will likely go live before the Chinese New Year at the end of January, Chang noted. "Shanghai remains our headquarters and R&D center," she added.
New Sky and Water Technologies
In the Innovation Technology exhibition area, where small and medium-sized tech companies exhibit their innovative new products, Yicai found products capable of operating in the air and water.
Ge Yunrui, director of government affairs of Autoflight, introduced the E6 electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft at the firm's CIIF booth to Yicai. The mass-produced all-electric vehicle includes retractable rotors, significantly enhancing flight time and range, with a flight time of over 6 hours and a range of 550 kilometers when unloaded, Gu said.
The "Wenyi" intelligent soft robotic fish developed by Shanghai Ocean University was swimming in a nearby small pool.
This bionic fish employs internationally pioneering bio-power propulsion technology, reducing energy consumption by 90 percent compared to traditional methods, a person at the booth told Yicai, adding that it can also perform underwater target recognition, collaborative operations, and localized navigation.
