(Yicai Global) Aug. 30 - Chinese ride-hailing firm Didi Chuxing will deploy 30 different models of Level 4 autonomous vehicles to offer pilot robo-taxi services in Shanghai's Jiading district, Zhang Bo, the firm's chief technical officer and chief executive of its autonomous driving unit, said at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference today.
L4 is the second-highest level of self-driving under fully-autonomous Level 5.
The Shanghai government awarded Didi permits to test its AV fleet on Aug. 28.
