(Yicai Global) July 19 -- Trains in China transported 1.052 billion tons of goods throughout the second quarter, up 8 percent from a year earlier, according to state-owned industry giant China Railway.

The growth rate for the rail sector was higher than the equivalent figure for road and water transport, it said in a statement today.
