(Yicai Global) Nov. 27 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland ended higher, lifted by the banking and agriculture sectors, after swings throughout the day.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed 1.14 percent higher at 3,408.31, while the Shenzhen Component Index was up 0.67 percent at 13,690.88. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen’s startup board, rose 0.37 percent to 2,618.99.
Agriculture stocks performed well during the whole day to lock in a 2.4 percent gain.
Bank stocks did even better, adding 2.7 percent.
For the week, despite a setback on Nov. 25, the Shanghai market notched up gains, led by insurers and banks. The Shanghai benchmark finished the week 0.91 percent higher, while Shenzhen lost 1.17 percent and the ChiNext was off 1.8 percent.
