(Yicai Global) July 20 -- Users of eHi Car Services, a major Chinese vehicle rental platform, will soon be able to book electric vehicles made by Xpeng Motors.
The rental platform will purchase and use a wide range of Xpeng’s vehicles, the Guangzhou-based carmaker said in a press release yesterday. First, Xpeng vehicles will enter seven cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Tianjin this summer.
The partnership means that more consumers will have the opportunity to get access to Xpeng’s vehicles through eHi's tens of thousands of outlets in more than 500 cities across the country, said Cai Lihong, chief strategy officer of eHi.
The Shanghai-based operator of eHi, eHi Car Rental, got delisted from the New York Stock Exchange in 2019 after reaching a merger agreement with Teamsport following its sluggish stock market performance.
