(Yicai Global) July 17 -- Chinese engineering contractor China CAMC Engineering has landed a contract worth CNY945 million (USD132 million) to provide the engineering, procurement and construction services for a public transportation hub in the capital city of Mauritius.
CAMCE will be responsible for the design and construction of a 96,000-square-meter bus terminal and its ancillary facilities in downtown Immigration Square, Port-Louis, the company said on July 15, citing the deal penned with developer Yihai International Investment Development.
The Beijing-based company will also provide debugging and maintenance services, it said. Construction is estimated to take three years.
The value of the contract accounts for 9.7 percent of the firm’s operating revenue last year, CAMCE said. This is the first project that CAMCE will execute in Mauritius and it will have a positive impact on the company’s business in the next few years.
The project will have good returns thanks to its central location and also the preferential tax cuts and land use rights offered by the Mauritius government, CAMCE said.
CAMCE, as one of China's major EPC contractors, inked an USD289 million EPC contract to build the main venue and service facilities of the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Uzbekistan in November last year.
