China's Stock Markets End Day Higher, Led by Tech Shares, ChiNext(Yicai Global) Jan. 20 -- China's mainland stock markets closed higher today, driven by technology shares and the ChiNext.
The Shanghai Composite Index finished the day at 3,583.09, up 0.47 percent. The Star 50 Index, which tracks tech stocks on Shanghai’s Nasdaq-style board, soared 2.6 percent to 1,481.45.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.46 percent to 15,223.36. Shenzhen's ChiNext Price Index surged 3.9 percent to 3,204.93.
