(Yicai Global) Aug. 7 -- The ownership of new energy vehicles (NEV) in China hit just over one million, accounting for over 50 percent of global NEVs, state-run Xinhua News Agency reported, citing some industry insiders.
Xing Weiqiang, deputy general manager of China Auto CAIEC Ltd., said in a press conference organized for the upcoming Green Auto China 2017 exhibition that in next three years the NEVs in China would keep an annual growth of 35 percent to 40 percent, and sales volume would reach 1.5 million by 2020.
By May 2017, over 161,000 public NEV charging stations have been installed and put into operation in China, Xing said.
The Green Auto China 2017 will be held in Hefei, Anhui province, from Sep. 1 to Sep. 3. During the exhibition, over 30 forums will be held including new energy vehicle executive summit, new energy vehicle information, intelligent and networking forum.
