(Yicai Global) July 5 -- Baidu will wholly acquire an artificial intelligence (AI) company, Kitt.AI, said Jing Kun, general manager of DuerOS AI platform of Baidu, Inc., [NASDAQ:BIDU] at Baidu's first artificial intelligence developer conference, 'Baidu Create 2017,' held in Beijing today.

Jing said Baidu will integrate Kitt.AI's voice recognition and natural language understanding abilities into the Baidu platform, which will be available to Baidu's partners free of charge, reported tech.ifeng.com.

Kitt.AI specializes in voice wake-up and natural voice interaction technologies. As a company securing investment from Amazon's Alexa and Microsoft's co-founder Paul Allen, it is also a provider of wake words for Alexa.

Kitt.AI's co-founder and CTO, Chen Guoguo, demonstrated how to use Kitt.AI's voice wake-up technology to quickly produce a voice wake-up device at the conference.
