(Yicai Global) Feb. 28 -- Medical specialists across China have started leveraging fifth-generation wireless networks to find ways to help patients in serious condition in Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus epidemic.
Experts residing in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou have been able to check CT scans online and discuss treatment plans for patients staying in Wuhan's emergency prefab Leishenshan Hospital, Yicai Global learned while watching the 5G live stream in Shanghai yesterday.
Losing some of CT scans' image quality can lead to a wrong diagnosis so fast internet is crucial in telemedicine, China Unicom, the temporary hospital's network provider, told Yicai Global.
Leishenshan Hospital was completed in less than two weeks earlier this month to accommodate a rapidly increasing number of Covid-19 patients in Central Hubei province.
