(Yicai Global) Nov. 10 -- Chinese question-and-answer platform Zhihu claims the ex-employee who illegally accessed one of the company's official social media accounts to complain about his boss was lawfully dismissed.
The former worker logged in to the company's Weibo account to post that his boss formed work factions and cliques, bullied employees and excluded those who didn't agree with his ways. The staffer's manager had previously been sacked by news aggregator Toutiao, run by Beijing ByteDance Technology Co., he claimed in the post.
Weibo is a Chinese social media platform run by Weibo Corp. [NASDAQ:WB].
Zhihu responded by saying that the employee was legally terminated and it has evidence the rogue worker illegally accessed its social media accounts and tarnished the firm's reputation.
The worker failed his probation period, which is legal grounds for dismissal, the company added.
