Zhejiang Mobile's IOV Project Settles in Yunqi Town Zhejiang Mobile's IOV Project Settles in Yunqi Town

(Yicai Global) Oct. 18 -- A cooperative project of the Internet of Vehicles for Zhejiang Mobile has settled in Yunqi Town, and is conducting smart parking, smart transportation and other pilot projects based on Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IOT) to provide more convenient and efficient smart management programs for urban development.

China Mobile Co. [HK:0941] (China Mobile) Hangzhou Branch, Soyea Technology Co [SHE:000909], and Hangzhou Yunqi Cloud Data Co. have sealed a cooperative agreement on an Internet of Vehicles (IOV) app based on Internet of Things (IOT) technology.

It is the first such agreement ever in Zhejiang Province. The three parties will work together to facilitate the IOV project in Yunqi, China Securities News reported today.

NB-IOT refers to a Narrow Band Internet of Things based on the cellular network. It is an important branch of the Internet of Everything (IOE), with the advantages of wide range of signal coverage, mass connectivity, low power consumption and low cost. The smart parking cloud platform based on NB-IOT can form a new pattern with 'one platform connecting all parking lots,' C114.net reported.

Users can check for available parking spaces via the smart parking cloud platform using an app on their smartphones and park per the navigational instructions received the same way. Drivers can also pin the parking space to their WeChat accounts and make payments through the same medium. If a parking space has a charging pile, the driver can reserve the parking space through the app remotely, recharge the car and pay. The smart parking project based on NB-IOT will pilot and go into operation in Yunqi Industrial Park.

Zhejiang Province has vigorously promoted the development of the IOT industry in recent years. The trial commercialization of NB-IOT nationwide kicked off in June, promoting the app in more than 20 public-service, personal-life and other tableaux. IOT connections in the Province are expected to reach 20 million by the end of the year
