(Yicai) April 17 -- A new salon dedicated to innovation in science and technology kicked off in Shanghai today, offering a high-end dialogue platform that brings together government, businesses, researchers, and investors.

Launched at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Science Hall, the Zhangjiang Sci-Tech Innovation Salon will help to boost the profile of Zhangjiang as a center for science and tech innovation, the committee for Pudong New Area, where it is located, said via its official WeChat account. The salon is also aimed at supporting efforts in Zhangjiang to enhance the integrated development of scientific, technological, and industrial innovation.

At the event, 12 companies and institutions, including the National and Local Co-Built Humanoid Robotics Innovation Center, signed up to join the Zhangjiang Sci-Tech Innovation Salon Strategic Cooperation Alliance. The Zhangjiang Science City Construction Management Office also released the document Zhangjiang Science City Ecological Leading Action, which will focus on creation of livable environments.

The signing ceremony for the cooperation alliance was witnessed by Li Rong, vice president of Shanghai Media Group and chairwoman of Yicai, Jiang Ge, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and vice president of ShanghaiTech University, Huang Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the Pudong New Area Party Committee and minister of the Publicity Department, and Li Hui, deputy mayor of Pudong New Area.

The salon was launched by Li Zheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Pudong New Area Party Committee, Wu Jincheng, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, Ding Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chairman of the Pudong New Area Association for Science and Technology, Fang Shizhong, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, Director General of Shanghai Media Group, and Wang Hong, deputy general manager of the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
