(Yicai Global) Sept. 14 -- Drone maker Yuneec International Co. recently rolled out a lightweight drone that weighs just 385 grams, takes 13 megapixel still images, and comes equipped with 4K ultra-high definition video.
Yicai Global tried out the Breeze on site. Although pixel blocks may form when one adjusts the camera angle, overall, shooting is satisfactory, and it is relatively easy to control via the mobile app. The flight control system is also relatively stable.
Equipped with a 1,150-milliampere hour (mAh) battery, the Breeze can fly for 12 minutes. At present it is difficult to create a portable drone that is lightweight, easy-to-use and capable of flying for a long time. Current drone flight time is able to meet the requirements of the ordinary user and miniaturization is one of the trends for drones, a Yuneec spokesperson told Yicai Global.
Quite a few drone makers are targeting the low-end mass-market for drones this year. Media reports have said that the privately held Chinese drone maker DJI Technology Co. is developing a lightweight and easy-to-use drone. Yicai Global attempted to confirm this with DJI but the company said no information is available at present.
