(Yicai Global) Sept. 21 -- The rate of onshore and offshore yuan against the dollar dropped below 6.60 level, after the yuan-dollar central parity rate fell 197 basis points.
At 9.46 a.m., the rate of yuan against the dollar softened to 6.60001, lower than the about 300 basis points at the close of last night trading in the onshore market, and hit the lowest since August 28, as the offshore rate fell to 6.6006, down about 150 basis points.
The yuan-dollar central parity rate dropped 197 basis points before today's opening of the interbank market to reach a new high since Sept. 1.
