Yuan Edges Down Against Dollar in Early Trading

(Yicai Global) Jan. 29 -- The yuan weakened slightly against the dollar in today's early trading after hitting a six-month high intraday yesterday.

The onshore yuan's spot rate opened at 6.7466, slightly down on the 6.7450 close yesterday. The offshore spot exchange rate was 6.7602 this morning.

The People's Bank of China set the central parity rate between the two currencies at 6.7356 today, the strongest point since July 19 and 116 basis points higher than yesterday.
