(Yicai Global) July 9 -- Xiaomi has unveiled its brand new Beijing headquarters, after building the CNY4.6 billion (USD668.4 million) project for almost four years.
The 210,000-square meter campus, located nearby those of Lenovo Group and Baidu, can accommodate 16,000 employees, the National Business Daily reported. Xiaomi's current Beijing-based employees will be transferred there.
Xiaomi was supposed to construct the multi-billion project in three years, according to data from the Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
Last August, the handset and smart device giant moved its artificial intelligence business HQ in Wuhan, where the company already had a research and development center. Its eastern HQ is in Nanjing where handset development takes place, firm insiders told Yicai Global earlier.
