(Yicai Global) May 15 -- China's Xiaomi, the top seller of smartphones in India by market share, is introducing vending machines that dispense handsets and phone accessories to the South Asian country to expand its presence and cut costs.
The first MI Express Kiosk, which has 200 items and accepts mobile wallet, cash and bank card payments, went into use in Bangalore, Xinhua News Agency reported today. Xiaomi will install the machines in metro stations, airports and shopping centers in major Indian cities in the coming months. The Beijing-based company entered the Indian market in 2014.
