(Yicai Global) Nov. 3 -- Zall Aviation Industry (Wuhan) Co. has completed the first production of a Skyleader 600 aircraft in Wuhan, the capital of central China's Hubei province, and there are plans to develop the city as a hub for the country's general aviation industry, the company said in a press briefing yesterday.
The company has annual production capacity of 1,000 light aircraft and 2,000 industrial-grade Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV).
Zall will develop a general aviation industrial cluster, integrating aircraft R&D, manufacturing and training, the firm's chair said.
There are currently 16 aviation industrial enterprises and 3 aviation service companies in the city. The total output of China's aviation industry in 2015 was CNY5.3 billion (USD801.33 million), and industrial added value reached CNY1.52 billion (USD230 million).
Hannan General Aviation Airport in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the first facility of its kind, started operation on Oct. 29, and there are plans for three more similar general aviation airports in the city.
Wuhan plans to build a general aviation industry worth of hundreds of billions of yuan in 10 to 15 years, said an official from Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone.
