(Yicai Global) Jan. 2 -- Authorities at Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, have closed the seafood market linked to the recent pneumonia epidemic that has caused nearly 30 people to be hospitalized.

The market needs to remediate its environmental and hygiene practices, the municipal government said in a statement on its Weibo account yesterday. 

On Dec. 31, Wuhan disease control specialists were deployed to collect samples from 27 patients, suffering from the contagious lung infection, the city health commission said on the same day.
