(Yicai Global) May 19 – Volkswagen's joint venture in China, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., plans to recall nearly 600,000 Golf and Sagitar cars due to faulty fuses.

External lighting fuses installed on the cars may fail due to overheating caused by high humidity, rapid temperature changes or vibration, and users may be exposed to safety risks if lights stop working, said the Chinese State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, China's quality regulator, on its website on May 17.

The recall will involve more than 416,000 Golfs produced between September 2009 and May 2014, and in excess of 161,000 Sagitars produced between July 2010 and March 2012. Volkswagen had recalled nearly 2,000 vehicles in 2015 due to a worldwide diesel emissions scandal in German carmaker giant's certain make of cars. The recall covered Tiguan models imported to China at that time.
