(Yicai Global) Sept.13 -- Chinese internet security firms Venustech Group Inc. [SHE: 002439] and Qihoo 360 Technology Co., have formed a new industry alliance with similar companies to improve issues in the cybersecurity sector, online news outlet China Securities reported on Sept. 12.
The Alliance for Cybersecurity and Information Industry, formed during China's Cybersecurity Industry Forum for Responsibility and Development, will strengthen extensive cooperation among domestic data security providers, security companies and other enterprises and institutions in the field of network security in order to develop internet-sharing capabilities and enhance security levels in the industry.
Increased cooperation in the industry can achieve mutually beneficial results for both companies and the industry as a whole, said Yu Qing, director of the new alliance. Faced with endless attack methods, an individual enterprise's defense strategy is not the strongest or most comprehensive, while exchanging threat information between companies can improve defensive capabilities.
The alliance will look to promote more abundant data interchanges among a range of manufacturers, and establish a safe, efficient, high-value threat sharing communication platform.
The internet security industry is an important aspect of cybersecurity, and is an area of national strategic importance. The power of the security industry is indispensable, said Ni Guangnan, an academic at the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
