Vast Funding Turns Wanda's Eye to Belt and Road Countries, Chairman Wang Jianlin Says

(Yicai Global) May 14 -- Wanda Group, the world's largest property developer, will turn its focus to development along the One Belt, One Road route, said Wang Jianlin, chairman.

Overseas and cross-border development strategies are more focused in Belt and Road regions, that's Asia, Europe and Africa, China Economic Net quoted Wang as saying at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The conglomerate previously paid most of its attention to Europe and North America, but with so many interconnectivity opportunities and funding to support construction along the route, the group will definitely emphasize development in these countries, he added.

This year, the developer will finalize two Wanda City theme parks in major countries along the Belt and Road, Wang said previously. Taking the giant entertainment park abroad will rank Wanda as the third largest exporter in the cultural tourism industry, behind The Walt Disney Company [NYSE:DIS], which runs Disneyland, and NBC Universal, famed for its Universal Studios.
