(Yicai Global) June 3 -- Universal Beijing Citywalk, a street near Universal Beijing Studios is expected to open next year, Universal Beijing Resort announced today on Tencent Holding’s popular WeChat messaging app.

Universal Beijing Citywalk will offer entertainment, catering and shopping projects as a part of Universal Beijing Resort, which will also own seven scenic spots and two hotels, per the statement.

Construction of Universal Beijing Resort resumed from the Covid-19 impact on March 30, said a staffer in charge of the project, which broke ground in January last year.

Universal Beijing Resort is owned by Beijing International Resort, a joint venture between Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment and Universal Parks & Resorts, which is in turn a business unit of US mass media conglomerate Comcast NBCUniversal.
