(Yicai Global) March 19 -- Beijing Ultrapower Software Co. and Hanwei Electronics Group Corp. plan to found a joint laboratory for Industrial Internet to research comprehensive Internet of Things solutions for large industrial concerns.

The two companies entered into a strategic cooperation agreement on March 17, an announcement Ultrapower issued today states. The joint lab will integrate the parties' respective software platforms and IT products to provide services for large industrial concerns undertaking huge civil projects such as underground pipelines and subways, as well as nuclear power, petrochemical engineering, metallurgy and mining.

Founded in 1998 and based in China's east-central Henan province, Hanwei Electronics is the nation's leading gas sensor maker. It has developed product-focused Internet of Things solutions for fields such as industrial security, environmental monitoring, gas and water supply and thermal power. The company's research institute has over 600 specialists whose expertise encompasses sensors, smart instruments, cloud computing, Big Data and other fields.

Formed in 2001, Ultrapower is a high-tech company specialized in information technology operation and maintenance management and software development, with its software business enjoying obvious advantages in nuclear power, underground pipelines, petroleum and petrochemicals, civil aviation and mining.

China's State Council proposed the strategic planning of developing Industrial Internet in 2015 and issued policies designed to deepen its development in November, Ultrapower's announcement shows. The cooperation will enable the two companies to integrate their physical and information infrastructure and seize opportunities from emerging markets and the national development strategy.
