(Yicai Global) July 10 -- China's Tong-Da Cable has won its second supply contract in Pakistan in the space of a week, following another deal with the country's state power transmission firm.
Tong-Da has won a USD9.7 million tender for a project from National Transmission & Dispatch, the Henan-based company said in a statement. The contract follows a USD14.3 million deal from NTD to supply cables last week.
Cables involved in the new project include 3,000 kilometers of aluminum alloy wires and 125 kilometers of aluminum-clad steel strands, which will be used for the 500 kilovolt direct-current four-wire power transmission line between the Port Qasim power plant and Matiari.
Tong-Da Cable will deliver the goods to the Karachi Port within 150 days of receiving the bid-winning notice.
NTD is Pakistan's sole power transmission operator, operating and maintaining 14,500 kv of power grids in the country.
