(Yicai Global) June 5 -- ByteDance Technology will gradually close TopBuzz, which is the overseas edition of its Jinritoutiao news app, online tech media 36Kr reported, citing a person close to the Beijing-based company that owns TikTok.
This app is no longer available in the App Store but is still available on Google Play -- where it was one of the most popular downloads in 2017 -- but only in Japanese. The last update was on May 9. TopBuzz app still supports browsing content, but some accounts have stopped updating.
Formed in 2015, Topbuzz offers news, videos and images to overseas users.
