(Yicai Global) Oct. 19 -- The sole distributor of Tesla in China, Tuosule (Beijing) Co., has filed a notice with General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China (AQSIQ) for the recall of 2,277 of the imported model X SUVs in mainland China, AQSIQ said on its website.
The recall only affects Model X SUVs built between Oct. 28 last year and Sept. 1, as well as some other models imported this year and last.
The reasons for the recall are assembly issues. The cables in the second-row fold-flat seats may fall forward during a crash, which might increase the risk of injury.
The company recommends not stacking two adults in the center and behind-driver seats in the second row. After the recall begins, car owners should contact their dealers for repair service as soon as possible, AQSIQ said.
