(Yicai Global) June 29 -- A unit under Chinese tech giant Tencent Holdings has agreed to provide technical services to help office supplies maker Shenzhen Comix Group develop its video conferencing software Haoshitong.

Comix and Tencent Cloud Computing Beijing agreed yesterday to link up to use the latter's cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence technologies so Comix can better serve its clients and reach a larger audience, the stationery manufacturer said in a statement the same day.

The firm will leverage Tencent Cloud's resources to optimize Haoshitong andn make it more intelligent, the statement added, saying Comix will use servers at Tencent Cloud and collaborate with its new partner's existing video conferencing products.

Haoshitong is well known across China, and is used for remote conferences, education, training, medical treatments, recruitment and even emergency rescues. It offers a streamlined service free of non-essentials so users can simply log on via a computer or smartphone and connect with the world via audio or video.
