(Yicai Global) Dec. 2 -- Chinese internet titan Tencent Holdings has made executive adjustments, involving a recent hire from ride-hailing giant Didi Cuxing, to better integrate search engine developer Sogou with its business structure.

Vice President Tiger Qie will take charge of the game developer's novel information platform and service line unit under its Platform and Content Group, the Shenzhen-based company said in an internal letter yesterday. Some of Qie's new areas of purview are Sogou's input method editor business and PCG's public technologies.

Qie joined Tencent last year after serving both Didi Chuxing and social commerce platform Xiaohongshu, also known as Little Red Book, as their chief technology officers.

The latest move means that Qie will be replacing VP Yin Yu in the IPSL unit. Yin will start focusing on smart education within the company's Cloud and Smart Industries Group. Yin joined Tencent in 2006 after working for Microsoft in the US for eight years.

Sogou was merged with Tencent on Oct. 15. After that, the social media and gaming giant formed the IPSL unit to contain QQ Browser, news feed Tencent Kandian, search, free novels, and file sharing. Sogou's artificial intelligence technologies got included in the mix.

But some of Sogou's assets went elsewhere. The company's mapping service, which has corporate clients, was added to Tencent's Cloud and Smart Industries Group.
