Tencent Denies Reports That King of Glory Developers Will Get Bonus Worth 100 Times Monthly Salary Tencent Denies Reports That King of Glory Developers Will Get Bonus Worth 100 Times Monthly Salary

(Yicai Global) Oct. 12 -- Chinese internet giant Tencent Holdings Ltd. [HKG:0700] has denied reports that members of the development team for its most popular mobile game King of Glory, also known as Arena of Valor, will receive a year-end bonus equivalent to 100 times their monthly salary.

The firm says the rumors, reported first on Weibo Corp.'s [NASDAQ:WB] social media platform Weibo yesterday, were unfounded and it is too early to calculate annual bonuses.

Some reports suggested the bonus for each developer may be as high as 120 times his or her monthly wage.

Arena of Valor has 200 million registered players and its performance helped Tencent's game service make USD7.4 billion in revenue during the first six months of this year.

An online report in July suggested that the team's annual bonus would be between USD212,300 (CNY1.4 million) and USD303,300.
