(Yicai Global) July 13 -- The Consumer Electronic Show Asia, a high-profile showcase of the latest consumer technologies, will not be going ahead this year and for the foreseeable future due to the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic and escalating China-US trade tensions.
“China is an important market and we look forward to improved relations with the US and the Western world,” the organizer, the Arlington, Virginia-based Consumer Technology Association, said today.
The main Las Vegas event, which is the world’s biggest consumer technology show, will go ahead as planned next year as an ‘in-person’ event, with restricted attendance.
Held in Shanghai since 2015, the three-day exhibition displays the latest fifth-generation mobile network, artificial intelligence, self-driving vehicle as well as augmented and virtual reality technologies.
