(Yicai Global) July 4 -- Suzhou's Xiangcheng district government recently held a 'Focus on Smart Manufacturing China-Japan Cooperative Innovation' investment promotion conference in Tokyo, Japan, Xinhua News Agency reported.

Gu Haidong, a district official in the city in China's eastern Jiangsu province, introduced the planning on July 2 at the promotional meeting for the zone that Xiangcheng district inaugurated last year, which will sprawl across 489 square kilometers.

The first group of eight organizations, including the China-Japan cooperative education project, the IT software cooperation project and the strategic cooperation project of the Japan-China Operators Association have already signed contracts with the zone.
