Special Tourism Services Club Yuelvhui Obtains USD1.5 Million Angel Round Funding Special Tourism Services Club Yuelvhui Obtains USD1.5 Million Angel Round Funding

(Yicai Global) Sept. 15 -- Yuelvhui, a startup club providing special tourism services in China, obtained CNY10 million (USD1.52 million) of capital in angel round funding. Investors are Alphax Partners and Guyin Capital, online media outlet Jiemian.com reported.

Yuelvhui CEO Dai Zheng said the capital raised this time will be mainly used for talent recruitment and product development.

The client pool of Yuelvhui is the middle class in cities who are financially capable and looking for a better lifestyle. Accommodation and relevant services are their frequent main demand.

By advocating the "intellectual property of tourism," Yuelvhui offers experience and itinerary products that are jointly developed by masters, online celebrity, locals and other players, Dai said.

The threshold for joining Yuelvhui is not low. The charges for two different ranks of membership are CNY299 and CNY3,998, which offer different types of "privileges" and points that can be used to offset hotel or itinerary expenses.

Launched in June as a membership privilege club, Yuelvhui started its business by offering members special packages and occasional free luxury hotel stays. If users join the club as a member, they will have the opportunity to get a free stay in some four-star or five-star hotels. Offering affordable stay in luxury hotels is how Yuelvhui attracts customers, Dai explained.

CEO Dai Zheng is simultaneously serving as the angel investor of directbooking.cn, a hotel 'software as a service' (SaaS) platform provider. Featuring accurate monitoring on the room-night sales of hotels, directbooking.cn is also one of the suppliers of Yuelvhui.
