(Yicai Global) June 18 -- China's Southeast Space Frame has won a contract to provide CNY364 million (USD52.6 million) worth of steel structures for Beijing's 2022 Winter Olympics.
Southeast Space Frame signed a contract with contractor Citic Construction to design and install structures for an exhibition hotel and a cultural commercial street in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, the Hangzhou-based firm said in a statement yesterday. The construction periods for the two projects are 82 days each.
The commercial street covers an area of 332,800 square meters, and the exhibition hotel occupies 193,700 square meters. The hotel will be used to hold meetings and exhibitions during the Games and it will continue to receive winter sports tourists after the event.
Southeast Space Frame has undertaken many projects in recent years, including the Beijing National Aquatics Center for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the main stadium for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. It has also helped build the T3A terminal of the Beijing Capital International Airport, the East Hangzhou Railway Station, and Shanghai's Hongqiao Integrated Transport Hub.
