(Yicai Global) June 22 -- Sinopec Sales Co. Deputy General Manager Zhang Haichao met with a delegation led by Richard Liu, the chairman and chief executive of JD.com [NASDAQ:JD], at Sinopec's headquarters yesterday. The companies conducted in-depth discussions on cooperation in areas such as goods purchases, logistics and delivery, finance and oil product supply.
Through the meeting Sinopec hoped to explore customer potential, discuss integration of online and offline channels, and advance the firm's transformation, Cs.com.cn reported.
Sinopec Sales has more than 30,000 gas stations and 25,000 Easy Joy convenience stores, providing services for more than 20 million customers each day. Its peers are unable to match it in terms of network, brand and customer base.
After developing for more than a decade, JD.com has evolved into one of China's largest internet companies by revenue. It is involved in e-commerce, finance and technology. During its emergence, JD.com stuck to using its own logistics system and focused on a model that guaranteed service quality and established its brand image. JD.com's reputation is in line with Sinopec's brand image.
