Shenzhen Metamaterial Firm to Make Smart Helmets for Shanghai Security Guards

(Yicai Global) July 11 -- Smart-city investor Kuang-Chi Group will start making intelligent helmets for Shanghai's largest security services firm.

Kuang-Chi signed a cooperation framework agreement with the Shanghai Security Service Corp., under which the tech company will make helmets to the latter while using metamaterials that possess extraordinary physical properties, the Shenzhen-based firm reported. The parties did not disclose more details about the product but said that the eventual patent will be shared.

Kuangchi Science, a space tech unit of Kuang-Chi, partnered with Xihu New Energy Transportation Development last week to produce ultralight internal frameworks for new energy vehicles. Famous tech entrepreneur Liu Ruopeng owns a 50 percent stake in the firm.
